5 Ways you can Take A Stand
If you stand for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, it’s time to do more than dance and march in the annual Pride Parade. We all have a role to play in fostering a safer and more welcoming Island.
On May 17th, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, we need you to #TakeAStandPEI by posting a picture or video that shows how you’re working to confront discrimination against gender, sexuality, ability, or race.
To get started, here are 5️⃣ ways to Take A Stand and help shift the narrative year-round:
Educate yourself!
Update your terminology and expand your knowledge.
Tell Uncle Bob It’s Not Funny
Stop inappropriate comments and jokes.
Bring it to the office
Develop inclusive policies and procedures, establish gender neutral washrooms, etc.
Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
Donate to 2SLGBTQIA+ groups.
Show Up
Attend 2SLGBTQIA+ events in your community and show your support.
